About Me

I'm currently working as a researcher and team lead at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Dresden. There, I'm leading the team "Assistance Systems" of the group "Digitalization and Assistance Systems" in the division "Division Processing Technology".

Research Interest

My main research focus lies within the space of Mixed Reality (including both Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality)., I'm particularly interested in user experience, human factors, and information visualization aspects of such systems. Specifically, how users will be able to work with and within future MR systems that not only consist of AR devices but also facilitate conventional computing devices like desktop PCs or tablets. In this context, the following aspects are of particular interest to me:

  • Information Visualization in AR application
  • Distribution of digital content (including visualizations) across different devices
  • Adaptive and responsive design of AR applications based on ergonomics and human factors (e.g., perception)
  • Remote and mixed presence AR systems for collaborative tasks

Background

Prior to my work at the Fraunhofer IVV, I did my Ph.D. at the Interactive Media Lab Dresden (IMLD) of the Dresden University of Technology, Germany. My Ph.D. thesis is titled "Understanding Immersive Environments for Visual Data Analysis" and was supervised by Prof. Raimund Dachselt. I successfully defended the same in 2023.

Before I worked as a research associate at the IMLD, I studied Computer Science (Diploma) at the Dresden University of Technology, Germany. In my studies, I specialized in Software and Web Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Psychology. Additionally, I was an elected member of the student council of computer science (4 years).
